Because the Vesta 9 Plate Water Ionizer has five filters that can be used in it and uses two internal filters, customers must determine which filters they want to buy. We privde this section to help you choose. The Vesta uses two replacement filters. Typically for customers not concerned about fluoride in their water (people who have wells) can install the Vesta GDF Sediment Filter as filter #1, and the Vesta Biostone or the Vesta UltraWater Filter or the Vesta GUF Internal Ultra Filter as filter #2. Alternatively if you are concerned about fluoride in your tap water, you can install the Vesta UltraWater Fluoride/Arsenic Filter as filter #1, and either the Vesta Biostone filter or the Vesta UltraWater filter or the Vesta GUF Internal Ultra Filter as filter #2. |

A note on fluoride:
Only Alkaviva ionizers which accepts two cartridge filters such as the Athena and the Vesta has the capability to remove fluoride. Fluoride is a very persistent contaminant and removing it requires a dedicated filter. Because the Athena and the Delphi has two filters on board, the dedicated fluoride Ultrawater filter is placed in the first filter location, and the regular UltraWater filter is placed in the second filter location. Between these two filters fluoride and all the other contaminants listed below is effectively reduced to undetectable amounts. For other water ionizers like the Melody, Venus, Orion etc which accepts only one filter, a pre-filter will have to be used to achieve the same goal with the regular Ultrawater filter inside the ionizer.
